Do We Need Another Porter?
The answer is YES! There is always room for a delicious porter, especially if it comes from the Brewmasters over at Ossipee Brewhouse in Somerville, MA.
During my recent visit to the almost-famous Brewhouse I was treated to a new brew. The Awesipporter created by the Somerville Beer Artisan, Jack K. The Awesipporter was a lovely and not too complicated porter. I believe most brewers these days are going a little overboard with their porters. Jack has gone back to a classic style of this tasty porter. It is a beautifully crafted porter, with subtle nutty, chocolaty undertones. The Awesipporter is a simple and delicious porter, and I didn’t feel this brew was overpowered with spices, which leaves a clean dry porter. I’m glad Jack did not create this as a “smoked” porter, those easily get out of control. Ossipee Brewhouse brings the porter back to its roots.
As with all Ossipee Brewhouse offerings, this beer cannot be purchased. You must go to the brewhouse and sample it on premises.
Save me one for my September visit! Does it go well with venison?
Dear Mookie,
Thanks for your continued interest and support of the brews & stews at the Ossipalace. We’ll be sure to save you some…. mmMM…. venison & porter — You Said It

Note to the editor: The name of the brew is the Awesipporter — a reflection of it’s heritage in Somerville and a presumed flavor profile.
